exemptions from assessment was created by cockburnspath
Dear B and w,

Some weeks ago i received an IB50 from Atos as my review date had arrived.
Due to the nature of my illness i was panic stricken at being compelled to attend a medical and if a home visit was refused i had reconciled to being unable to go and losing benefit pending appeal.
I was therefore amazed when i did not hear from Atos again and instead received a letter from DWP stating that i did not have to undergo the assessment as the severity of the illness meant i was treated as meeting the threshold of incapacity.
This is exactly what happenened on the last occasion i was reviewed three years ago though having read of other peoples horrendous experiences on this forum i was expecting the worst this time.I can only put it down to support from a thoroughly decent Gp.
My question is this.Does this mean that i am currently considered to be an exempted case which i previously considered i was and therefore do not have to worry about work focused interviews etc(never been sent in the past).
Also no next review date has been given. Is this to do with migration to ESA and does an Incap exemption have any positive bearing on this.
Thanks to everyone at Benefits and work for advice over the last few weeks. Also to Carole for a very supportive message when i was at my lowest.

On completing my last IB50
I too recived a letter saying that I had met the threshold for Incapacity Benefit - Does this mean I shall not receive another IB50?
