Hi All.
Just wondered if anyone can help. I have been on IB since mid eighties, am registered blind, and a male of 61 years of age. At present pension credit are topping my money up.
What I would like to know is, do I have to be transfered to ESA or could I have pension credit give me full pension credit instead, hope someone can help

Hi All.
I did a post on this yesterday, but made a mistake, I put my age at 61 when is should have been 60.
To recap, I am on IB, and have been for past 27 years, am registered blind, I dont want to go on to ESA, and was wondering if when they get round to me, if I could go on pension credit instead,am on IB now but pension credit top my money up, so was wondering if I could opt for full pension credit rather than have to go on ESA. Have spoken to pension credit, and one person says yes I can do that, yet another person says no I cant, so at this point I just dont know were I stand.I know that in one article on here, it does say that any person reaching pensionable age before March 2014 wont be transfered, but I dont hit 65 till November 2014, I take it that pensionable age is the same as retirement age. Hope some one can help, this is really making me ill.

Claimants who reach pensionable age before the end of March 2014 will not be migrated to ESA, they will stay on their current benefits. The DWP say this is to avoid people having to make two changes of benefit in a short period of time.

Wonder if anyone can help, am a bit confused?
