Hi Sue

Thank you for that, I see my GP Wed next week I will let you know progress if there is any.

I recieved my "why you think our decision is wrong". not a lot of room for why you think it's wrong, will enclose an a4 sheet letter I will also hopefully be able to enclose one from my GP.

I don't know if he should but my husband also wants to send one informing them of my day to day problems, think this should have gone with my application in the first instance. Than you once again Sue it's good to know there are people who have come up against the same problems.

Hi lottie,

I would also suggest keeping a diary record prior to your tribunal, detailing care and mobility needs, say over 2 weeks or a month. This will give a good idea to others exactly how you are affected day by day.

It is also a good way of showing what a typical day is like, because you will be taken through a typical day at your tribunal. Ans i agree with Sue, you will be treated respectfully at the tribunal. i have been to 2 and each and everyone of the panel members were lovely.

Good Luck

Kathy x

Hi Lottie

I too was turned down for DLA 3 times and it wasnt until the 3rd time that ia appealed. It went to tribunal and i was awarded MRC a unannimous decision. They were very kind and understanding and took on board everything i told them, at times i was upset at having to go into detail but it was well worth it. My DLA is up for renew now and i am waiting for a decision but i will appeal again if i am turned down. Good luck and keep your chin up!!!

Kind regards
Julie

SLE is a bugger to claim for as lots of info on it claims "it flairs up" of course many with it know different

also it can cause a rash at one of the spectrum and at the other organs fail..... with such a wide spread you would more than most have to give details of now just how it affects you but IMO give plenty of details on which organs are affected and how and drugs needed

who do you see ? it would be good if you could get seen at st thomas in London

Hi All

I have been to see my GP today and he is providing a letter to help my claim for dla.

I also asked about a referal to St Thomas's he is quite happy to do this, but would rather I wait until I have seen my consultant begining of August which I have agreed to do.

My medication has been changed for the 6th time in as many weeks, and I wondered if anyone treated at st Thomas's had found medication that helps the many problems associated with lse

I live in East Yorkshire but will be quite happy if they could help.

My GP is quite happy for me to be refered but would like me to wait until I see my consultant in August, which I have agreed to. Ait is a long way any info would be more than welcome.
