WFHRA was created by Aitch22
Hi to all on this great site.

I have received a letter stating I am being placed in the WRAG and then another subsequent letter asking me to attend a WFHRA (which according to your great site info is correct) which I attended today.

My wife came with me and attended the assessment with a very nice lady (unlike my medical assessment doctor) who said, I think, she was a clincal nurse assessor.

From the start the said she had no record of my medical - which I had two months ago - and asked me to explain what was wrong with me, to which I gave her the information. She then asked if i was attending for DLA or ESA. I explained I have been placed in the WRAG for ESA.

At the end she sympathised with my condition and said that they would probably not be bothering me again!

Does this mean I could now be put in the support group? Or worst case will I have to have another medical?

Its all a bit strange really!

Thanking you in anticipation.

Hi Aitch,

I'm afraid that the work-focused health related assessment doesn't have any effect on which ESA group you are placed in, so that won't change.

I've no idea what the health professional meant when they said they wouldn't be bothering you again - it was the health professional at your initial medical who will have reccomended how long it should be before you are checked again.

You can ask for a copy of that first medical report and see what the reccomendation was.

Good luck,

Steve

Thanks for getting back Steve.

I guess I will have to wait to see where my pathways to work interviews are and go through the process.

Cheers

Just a quickie Aitch ,

and no offence meant , as i cant tell your age by typing...how old are you ? I have come across a couple of occasions where people who are eligible for Pension Credit (and also under 62) and hence exempt from the WFHRA and WFI's, who have received letters from ATOS "demanding" contact to arrange the medical.

On querying the DWP , the DWP havent admitted a mistake but have said that the attendance is totally voluntary. (The standard ATOS letters more than inferred a threat of sanctions)
Would be nice if that was what was meant by "we wont bother you again " ..but as i say it's a long shot .... and does depend on your age

Hi Rich,

I am 56 so I probably wont be exempt.

Received my assessment report this morning and the opening letter states "the report will be discussed with you at your next scheduled work focused interview."

The assessment report states "The client would benefit from no lone working or night working, working at heights, continental shifts, heavy lifting and carrying, repetitive tasks, driving, operating machinery, standing or walking for long periods of time."

Lol. What can I do then. I cannot walk 50 metres without pain, I have arthritis in both knees, right knee bone on bone, as well as my spine.

Looks like I am going through the process and will have another medical in 6 months.

Thanks for getting back Rich but they will bother me again. Lol.

Kind regards,
Aitch
