Quandry Re DLA concent page, advice please was created by kathy1
Hi All,
I am about to send back my renewal pack for DLA because my current award of LRC is up in May.
I have completed it in full but I am really toying with consent page.
I have read the guiles re amending the wording of the consent page and I am happy to amend mine, BUT.......
I want to add something else as well.
As a result of a recent EMP visit which I will discuss at tribunal soon. I will no longer agree, and neith will my husband, than any other DWP medical "professional" will ever cross our door agin without us first arranging for the medical to be recorded professionally and within the terms that it permitted.
If not this, then I will have a legal representative in my home if and when another one of these doctors visit.
So, my Q is......How do I advise DWP of what my intention is so that if they decide on yet another medical, the person who is to carry out the medical will have the opportunity to agree to what I intend to do. I believe they have to be in agreement to this.
If they are not in agreement to recording, and if they are not in agreement to a legal rep present......where would that leave me, because I wont agree to a visit without it being witnessed or recorded.
Please Help, do I advise DWP on my form at consent page, or do I add this information in somewhere else.
Thank All

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Kathy,
My own feeling is that this is a matter best dealt with only if the DWP say they want you to have a medical.
There is no problem with having a witness present at a medical, the issues around recording it sounds like you are already familiar with.
Good luck,
Steve

THanks Steve,
I will just simply amend the consent page for the time being, and leave the rest until I am advised if an EMP is to call.
