Hi All,

Just to let you know that Jim and Pete are now out of hospital, but are still quite ill, so it will be quite a few weeks before they are well enough to post again.

Jim is now 69 years of age, and after what I feel is a lifetime in welfare rights, I feel it's time for him to stand down to make way for younger moderators.

Whether he does that is Jim's decision and out of my hands, but in the near future I intend to resign as a moderator due to my own health problems and have e-mailed Steve to that effect.

Kind regards.

Pat

Hi Pat,

Good to hear that both Jim and Pete are out of hospital.

It would indeed be nice to see the emergence of younger moderators, but moderators capable of dealing with welfare rights issues particularly incapacity/disability benefits, it appears are unfortunately thin on the ground.

I don't know if there were ever "experienced" moderators associated with the Yourable website, but they certainly didn't transfer over to B & W when it closed down. I thought mistakenly as it has turned out, that we may have been offered some assistance from that source. However, that is their prerogative and obviously they are free to do as they like.

Insofar as both Jim and yourself are concerned, I fully understand and appreciate whatever decision that you have made, or in Jim's case may intend to make, because speaking personally I know how hard it is to contribute to the forum when you are beset with health problems, and ultimately Jim and Pete having both ended up in hospital as a consequence of their ill-health.

Thank you for letting us know of recent developments.

Hi Pat,

Really glad to hear Jim and Pete both out of hospital and getting better.

Also really sorry to hear that you have decided to cease as a moderator on the site, your contribution and excellent advice will be sadly missed, but you must first consider your health, thats whats most important.

I hope Jim listens to you, and I for one think he should, his ill health recently may make him think seriously about this(cause we all know how he sneaks on when your not watching) although another big gap will be left if Jim decides to cease as a moderator as well.

Both of you have been really helpful to me and a lot of others on here with your down to earth advice and encouragement, very hard to find in other areas these days.

At least, you can both sit back and take pride in all you have done to help others, thats a nice thing for someone to have under their belt, and I think everyone on this site will be ready to give you a big bouquet, by way of a GREAT BIG THANK-YOU for all your great advice and support.

Hope you pop in every so often though, I would like to think after all the advice you and Jim have given me that I could at least give you another success story once my appeal is re-called shortly.

Take care, You Too Jim

Kathy x
