PIP 2nd assessment

PIP 2nd assessment was created by Cadno
I had a reassessment for PIP last week and today I have received a letter from CAPITA for a second phone appointment next week. Has anyone had this happen to them?
I noticed I had a missed call from CAPITA a few days ago so I’m hoping they may just need to clarify some information.
The first telephone call lasted over 3 hours as I found the process so stressful due to my mental health. I was told it would be recommended that any future assessments would be paper based because of their duty of care to me. Thanks

Hi Cadno

I suspect they just want to clarify some information. If they don't immediately clarify the reason for their call, insist that they tell you and ask them to confirm that this is not another assessment. It really shouldn't be, but you need to know.

I hope it goes well for you.

Thank you for the reassurance, this reassessment has been a stressful time as the application was returned in November 2023.
I’ve just had a text message from CAPITA which seems generic stating they will attempt to carry out the assessment without needing to see or speak to me so I’m assuming this will be now be paper based. The text states they may need to get in touch with people who support me and will only be in contact if they are unable to get this information.
Do they tend to get in touch with the professionals included in the application as I’m assuming if this is the case it could still be a while before receiving a decision. Thanks

Hi Cadno

Yes, they are clearly going to do a paper-based assessment. When they say they may contact professionals, it is exactly that. They may or may not. Even if you have named multiple professionals, it is unlikely they will contact them all. They often only contact the GP - but it varies from one claimant to another. If they do contact professionals they won't give them that long for an answer.
