UC50 form UC WCA - Appointee - Interview question

UC50 Appointee for daughter

In the UC50 how do i complete info on p19 Face to face assessment when I am an appointee?
Do I write it as the appointee and explain why this cant happen?

I hope they interview me and not ask for my daughter because attending an assessment would be detrimental to her MH. I hope her medical evidence proves this. She barely leaves the house and hasn't for years. neither does she speak on the phone to strangers or online camera.

I'd be grateful if any members could share their UC WCA interview experience please because advice for Appointees isn't covered on this site and the job centre staff were unsure of the process.

Thank you

Hi Kaitlin399,

Yes you can complete p19 Face to face assessment as an appointee.

The following are the DWP internal guidelines from the WCA handbook regarding non attendance.

"Where appointees report that a claimant is unable to attend and participate in an
assessment, the Supplier should ascertain:
• whether this is temporary, and whether the assessment could be rearranged; or
• whether an alternative assessment channel would enable claimant attendance and
participation.
Where a claimant’s reasons for being unable to attend and participate are not temporary,
an assessment may go ahead with the appointee only as long as all of the following
conditions are satisfied:
• Issue relates to the claimant’s health condition(s) or impairment,
• It is medically reasonable
• It is not due to choice or convenience.
If evidence to support non-attendance and non-participation is available, then it should be
considered and noted within the advice for DWP"

Replied by Kaitlin399 on topic UC50 form UC WCA - Appointee - Interview question
Hi David
Thank you for this info it is helpful.
I am not sure if I need to do anything about it?
The last sentence says "If evidence to support non-attendance and non-participation is available, then it should be
considered and noted within the advice for DWP"
Who notes the advice for DWP in relation to the WCA interview?
Do I do it in the Journal?

Hi Kaitlin399,

No the noting of the advice is for the HAAS company.
I have just answered your other post giving advice about the UC Journal.
