Legacy Benefits migration was created by vic
Hi
I receive contribution based esa with an income based esa top up , housing benefit & pip.
When i get my migration notice i am thinking of not applying for UC for my legacy benefits esa income related top up & housing benefit .
Would my contribution based esa carry on without any problems ?
Basically i cannot be bothered with the stress of it all ,i am thinking of managing on pip & contrbution based esa (if not effected) until my retirement age.
My health has further deteriorated the past 8mths mentally & physically with sleepless nights worrying about the migration , my health has to come first .
What i have read on this site fills me with fear & dread when some people who have moved to UC , some have encountered problems , illegally asked for fit notes & to attend the job centres, even when not physically or mentally up to it .
I also feel signing that UC commitment will be used against us somewhere further down the line ,plus most likely we will be get a medical assessment request BY UC shortly after migration .
I have a few years to go before retirement & rightly or wrongly , i would prefer not to be hassled to death by UC .
(sorry for the poor grammar)
regards
Vic

Hi vic,

Yes your Contributions Based ESA will carry on despite the Managed Migration letter if you don't claim UC.
