Wording when filling out PIP AR1 was created by sjwcr
Hello,
I'm currently filling out my AR1. My last review was in 2021, and I was awarded enhanced for both parts.
I have read so many horror stories of advanced awards going down to nothing and it is really stressing me out.
Unfortunately, I think I was so thrilled to get the awards that I never got the PA4. I am already on an extension and won't get it in time. I do have all the letters and my copies of my original reply in 2021.
I am going over my answers and probably overthinking and adding bits, etc.. I realise that I am heavily using the phrases assistance, prompting and supervision, throughout my answers. Should I change these?
I have tried to add updated evidence as suggested, I'm worrying that I am mucking up the answers that I gave last time...aaargh.
Thanks
Sj

Hi sjwcr
I'm sorry that you're having trouble with your form. Please do not send it back late without telling them beforehand. Ring again before the end of your current new deadline and see if they will give you a further extension.
If you do get through and they agree a second extension, make sure that you keep a record of the conversation.
No I don't think you should change your answers. It is very easy to overthink this. There is no perfect way of doing it and you can only do what is best. Have a look at the guide to PIP claims and reviews and look at the sample answers under each question - that might help if you're feeling stuck.
You don't have a copy of the P4, but am I right in thinking you don't have a copy of your previous form to guide you? Please make sure you get a copy of the form before you send it off - take pictures of each page - if you have access to a mobile.

I suggest looking at your previous award letter.
On mine they added their own rationale for giving me what I was awarded so it’s likely you will have a rationale for your last award explaining why you were given what you were given.
If things are the same for you now then perhaps you could use some of their own wording in yours?

Hi BIS,
Thank you so much for your reply, I do have copies of my previous form, and the additional pages. I tried to put the updated examples in, but have inadvertently started rephrasing things and moving them around a bit. Do you think I should leave it as it was? Is this because it would be easier to contest if they gave me a smaller award? Aargh I've put myself in a pickle, I'm worried I have overwritten my 2021 extra sheets ...

Hi sjwcr
It doesn't matter if your form is slightly different at this time. Whatever you do, you're going to worry that it isn't right. There is no perfect way of doing this and as wrong as it is, much of it just comes down to luck. I don't know anyone who has completed a form who doesn't think they should have done it differently or better. Just do your best and then send it in.
