DLA was created by Joanne Parker
Hi all. I should be grateful for some advice about adult DLA.
I am the appointee for my son, so all the paperwork and payment come to me. His address is changing, and he is going to try to live in his own home, with full time support. Do I have to notify the DWP that his address is changing, although mine isn’t? On the government website it says that as an appointee I need to notify the DWP “about any changes which affect how much the claimant gets.” A change of circumstances will trigger a PIP assessment, which I would prefer to avoid until absolutely necessary. (I realise that I’m clutching at straws.) Thank you.

Hi Joanne

Welcome to the forum.

In case you are not aware your real name may be showing as your Forum ID, if this is the case then I recommend that you change it as soon as possible. See

You do need to inform DWP of a change of address, we have heard from claimants who did not notify DWP when they moved and their claim was suspended.

I believe at present moves from DLA to PIP has been suspended for the time being.
