applied for UC when was mentally unwell

I was getting esa support group and housing benefit

i applied for uc when seriously unwell they wanted me to attend job centre to provide proof of identity i couldn't attend and i never provided proof

they say they have closed my claim will this affect my esa and hb

Hi gazzmg,

Your ESA and HB will have been closed automatically when you claimed UC.
You need to make a new UC claim asap and then request backdating and a Mandatory Reconsideration of the previous closure. We can assist with these once you are ready to make a new UC claim. But I think the best course of action would be for you to phone Citizens Advice Help to Claim and explain your situation. They will help you make a new UC claim and with the backdating and maybe with the Mandatory Reconsideration. The Citizens Advice Help to Claim phone number is
