Sometimes the system does work was created by velvet
Just a fairly brief post to let people know that it is possible to have a PIP application go (relatively) smoothly. Yes the system is degrading and emotionally traumatic whatever happens BUT lies, battles, mandatory reconsideration, and appeals are NOT inevitable.

I applied for PIP in early June, assessing myself as qualifying for the Daily Living standard rate. I had a phone assessment in mid-September that lasted just short of 2 hours. 9 days later I got a text telling me I had been awarded PIP and a letter would give me details - and the letter could take 2 weeks to arrive. 3 days later the letter arrived telling me I had been awarded the standard rate of daily living for 4 years.

The guides from here were a huge help in letting me include the information necessary in the way that it was needed.

Hi Velvet

Congratulations on your PIP award. I'm glad to hear you received what you were expecting.

Thanks for taking the time to write about your experience. It's good to be reminded that the system sometimes runs smoothly.

Glad that you found the guides useful.
