I have MS on Contributions Based ESA. No probs. I've been diagnosed with a blood condition called ET. Discovered through blood work for MS. No symptoms. Doc keeps eys on platelets. No I need to tell ESA? ESA claimed for MS not this. Really scared start claim all over again.

Hi mcguire
The question to ask yourself is, has your condition improved now you have been diagnosed with a blood condition without symptoms? if the answer is no, then you do not have to contact ESA.
I am assuming that you are in the support group, if you are not but in the WRA Group and your condition has deteriorated then check out our guide to see if you would pass the second test, around page 27.

Yes I am already in a support group. I have been for 15 years. The ET has made absolutely no effect on my MS at all. I didn’t even know I had it until it was found in an MS blood test and they brought it to my attention. I have no symptoms from it at all.

I mentioned briefly I had a blood disorder to the ESA and she wasn't even bothered, to be honest. She said it wouldn't make much difference anyway because I'm already in a support group for Progressive MS.

Hi mcguire
She is correct, you are already in the support group, you can mention it next time you get reviewed, but for now sit back and relax.

Truthfully, I've been worried all day. I wish I had never mentioned it at all. I only called because they accidentally sent me a new form for Income related Esa. I called to find out why? Turns out it was sent in error. They appololigied. But I casually said in conversation about my blood condition? I wasn't reporting it but just saying that this blood thing had come along? She was really nice. She said you can include that next year but pretty casually. I'm already in a support group. U kno
