mobility part of pip was created by jan1
Hi everyone,
My husband is 70 but was moved from dla to pip 6 years ago but they took away the mobility part and gave him the lower rate of the care. Could anyone tell me if it is possibles for him to try and claim the mobility part again and what do you think his chances are of succeeding. We are not clued up on the forms and what to put, he also had his blue badge taken off him when it needed renewing, because they took the mobility part off him. Thank you for your help.

Hi Jan1

I'm very sorry, but you've missed the window of opportunity for your husband to receive PIP mobility. (I don't know whether you challenged that decision at the time) If your husband had been awarded standard or enhanced mobility before he reached state pension age - then it would have continued along with his PIP care component. However, once a person has reached state pension age - they cannot be awarded PIP.
