PIP and diagnoses was created by Lic
Hi, I have a couple of specific learning difficulties that are undiagnosed but that popped up on informal screening years ago. These are language processing disorder (I have processing difficulties and working memory difficulties amongst other things), and I have dyscalculia. In terms of PIP, do I need to have a full diagnosis for these to be considered, or would informal screening results be accepted? Thanks.

Hi Lic,

PIP is based on how your disabilities affect you on a day to day basis, rather than what is wrong with you.

If you check out the guides on this site, they'll be able to help you word things to enhance your chances of success.

Kind regards, Chris.

Hi Lic

Better to tell them and let the DWP decide what's relevant and what's not rather than missing out something that is relevant to your difficulties. With PIP it's not the the specific condition the DWP is so interested in, but how the condition impacts your daily life an/or mobility against the specific criteria set out in the questions.
