Writing which descriptor you think you should meet or get was created by Anxious Anonymous
I had a discussion with Fightback4justice about this and I said I should meet 1F not 1E for mobility because I need help even with familiar journeys. I said I want to say I believe I meet descriptor 1F
And they said, don’t do that, as it will get the backs up at the DWP. But it’s clear I was wrongly awarded in my last PIP for things such as supervision.
So my question is, can you tell them what you think you should meet. Is it recommended, advised or do you do in a subtle way through anecdotal examples and wording?

Hi Anxious Anonymous
There is absolutely no point in trying to be subtle about it. People miss subtleties all the time, and that's because they are only apparent to the person making them. You should be open about saying which criteria you meet and why. Will the DWP agree with your judgment? You won't know until you see the assessment report.
Many claimants have said what they think they should be awarded and have not encountered the wrath of the DWP. Some have gotten the award they wanted, and others haven't. Plenty of people never suggest what they should be awarded, and precisely the same happens - some get what they are hoping for, while others do not.
As I have said in a previous post, if you are not awarded what you wanted, you will assume that you did the wrong thing, whether that is correct or not. You can ask different people or organisations what you should do for the best, and you will get differing opinions. At some point, you just have to go for what feels right for you. No one else can make that decision.
