Hi ,

I finally got my letter from the doctor to say it would cause me overwhelming psychological distress to have a video assessment ,
So i rang the IAS and the call handler said
"Sorry we cant do a paper based assessment becauae we dont have enough medical evidence"

I said i had a letter from my doctor and if i could have the address , she replied "we dont accept any documentation, you will have to send it to the DWP" ,

I said "will it get to them in time and sent to you"
She said "well it depends on when you send it they usually put it on your file within a few days"

She asked me why i couldnt do a video assessment and i said "my signal isnt good , also i dont do them dont know what to do and also im having a very bad mental health issues at present hence why my doctor has written a letter ,
She said "are u okay to do a telephone one its all we can offer"
I said well i have to so she arranged one for the following morning ,

Im worried becauae when i asked when was the last evidece i sent in and she said 23rd july ,
I gave them my mental health specialist letters , my GP letter and my CT scan results , yet she said "we dont have enough medical evidence to do a paper based assessment"

Does that mean i will have my pip stopped , i was given enhanced on both last time , and things are worse and ive provided them with letters of evidence , shes confused me ? Any help to ease my mind , im more panicked about my motarbility car going as i wont be able to have the therapy im awaiting , as i live very rural and im relying on this therapy to help me ,
It says on my recent mental health letter that "the risk at the appointment is medium during the session due to ........."

In now on the phone waiting to speak to the dwp to say im sending in even more evidence and hoping they will tell me what evidence they have sent over to IAS

We know that the Assessment Providers only have read-only access to the information provided by the DWP so they cannot add to that electronic copy, however, it has never been a problem adding "paper" copies to the claimant's file.

I'm a bit confused as to what you are saying about the mental health specialist letters, my GP letter and my CT scan results. Are you saying that they are missing from your file? Did you send these after 23/07?

I can't answer why they have said there is not enough medical evidence, perhaps they disagree with the relevance of the documents that you sent.

No, it does not mean that your PIP will stop, it could but there is no link between needing an assessment and losing your award.
