PIP descriptors changed not sure why

Hi all,

I was reassessed for PIP and was successful in April. I have recently had another award letter/statement of entitlent which I think was triggered by them working out I was entitled to back pay after the length of time they took. In this new letter my descriptor has been changed in mobility - planning and following journeys. I still have 10 points but they have changed the reason (was d and has been changed to e). Has any one else experienced their descriptors being changed in this way? Any ideas why it might have happened? It doesn't change my award but does mean that I could now apply for blue badge under automatic entitlement - I am currently reapplying for one having been unsuccessful in reapplying last year but it is difficult for me to get evidence because it is a chronic fatigue condition and I don't have ongoing specialist appointments because there is no point and no provision!

Many thanks.

Hi Mason

I can't tell you why it has happened. It could be a clerical error, or it could be they decided the new descriptor makes more sense. I wouldn't overthink it and just be happy that you now have the automatic entitlement to get a blue badge.

Thanks BIS - good advice! As you know, it is just too easy to get caught up in overthinking all of it!!
