Pip and Post Covid was created by Brian
Hi My name is Brian I am 60 and a carer a type 2 Diabetic with history of Pulmonary Embolism and Depression. I have recently been diagnosed with post Covid syndrome. Because of my ongoing poor health condition my post covid was missed. I caught it in Dec 22 a mild dose but have been I’ll since. I am told to claim pip as it is impacting my life daily and I was wondering does anyone have insight on this issue on claiming ( had phone put down on me 3 times this week around the 40 minute mark ) I used my Journal for UC to ask questions of my work coach but have had no answer at 5 working days.any advice when I do get through

Hi Brian, Unfortunately the job centre don't deal with PIP related queries, it is still DWP staff, but a different department. I know all these different forms of benefit can be confusing at times, wondering who to ask what. I would say your first step is to contact the PIP enquiry line (I know you've mentioned that you've had the phone put down on you 3 times, but unfortunately it's a case of keep on trying). As far as I'm aware, you can only start a claim by phone or by post, however it does take longer by post. I've included a link for you to help get you started. You will get through eventually, but I know they advise on the phone to try between Tuesday and Friday 12-4pm as other times can be extremely busy. I've been onto the PIP enquiry line today, and waited 38 minutes before I got an answer, but my query was dealt with first time. The link will also help you with what information you will need for them - then once you have the form, come back to us if you need any help with filling the form in, however we are not allowed to tell you what to write in, can only advise. I hope this information has been of some help to you. www.gov.uk/pip/how-to-claim Kind regards, Chris.
