Urgent - Need support letter was created by b7s7dh
I'm in the greater London Area.

I urgently need to get a private GP/therapist/advocate. I do not have a GP and will not register with a GP due to bad treatment.
I have reached out to a few GP's and they will not write support letters for UC/ESA and so on.
I know some GP's will write support letters, I know they are supposed to or as an add on cost. What I need is someone to write the letter.

I do not need a diagnosis or anything else just a document outlining other reports and support letters.

Does anyone have any suggestions who I could go to? I'd like ongoing support but I have a deadline due to a reassessment.

Hi b7s7dh

Some GPs do write letters for patients regarding their benefits, and some fill out a form if the DWP contacts them directly. However, GPs have no legal obligation to write a support letter, and I can't see anyone writing one for you if you're not registered with them.

I don't have a suggestion of where you will find a private GP to write you the letter you want. Claimants have sometimes complained that the DWP ignores letters from private GPs as the DWP knows the claimant has paid for the letter, and therefore, they don't trust what is said. If you find a private GP now, they won't know anything about you, and I would think most would be unwilling to write anything that you would find useful.

The best thing you can do is see if any specialist welfare advisors in your area can offer you some help. They are, however, inundated with requests, so you may find it difficult to find someone at short notice. I have attached a link to find someone in your area. advicelocal.uk/

You might also try any of the charities associated with you medical conditions and see if they can help.

Thank you.

Charities in my area are not very good. I will try larger charities associated with my condition.
A new NHS GP will likely not give me the time to explain anything. 10 minutes is not enough time.
