ADP advice as PIP award date ends in weeks was created by mikmeg
Hi,
After my appeal ( Dec 2019 ) with PIP tribunal I was given 22 points, but only award until October 2023. I had previously been on DLA/PIP for life since 2013.
I now have only 5 weeks until end date of my award and as I live in Scotland it will be ADP. I have not had any letter or information. When, with my wife who went online chat / call with SS Scotland for advice, we were told just wait the 4 weeks and call back as they had no idea what to do except stating it should be ok.
I have no way of knowing any outcome, except my Motability car and blue badge will not be valid by October and income ? Surely there is precedent for letters to be sent sooner than a week before end of award.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

You need to take action, if your current award is not extended by the DWP then it will end on the date specified and your payments will cease.
Although you should be transferred to ADP your current award still lies with the DWP so you should contact them next week, they should be able to tell whether the award has been extended, if it hasn't then you should request a call back from a manager to explain why this has not happened.
Extensions should be applied automatically but I can't remember whether it is four or five weeks before the End Date so you need to re-check a week later if they can't tell you.
You should also call the ADP hotline, I believe the number is 0800 182 2222, it is not acceptable to leave any update on the transfer until a week before your current award ends.

Would suggest that something has gone wrong at the DWP end.
A case will be transferred to ADP if a client is approaching their End of Award
As the transfer process can take 3-4 months the DWP should have started the process in your case early this year. Your PIP will be paid by DWP until transfer is complete.
To be fair to Social Security Scotland (SSS) they can only start their end of things when notified of transfer by DWP. As far as we know SSS have no visibility of PIP award until contacted by DWP.
So as advised by Gordon you need to get DWP to extend your award as even if they start transfer now there is the possibility of transfer taking 3-4 months.
I am on a webinar with SSS next week and if possible get their view on this etc.
As a fall back suggest you ay need to contact your MP (not MSP) to take up your case with DWP
