a warning about time extensions..........

I was struggling to complete my ESA50 frm and my daughter phoned up to gt an extension on the deadline date. As I previously said, she did get 2 weeks which was 11th August 2023. The guy actually asked my daughter how long I wanted which was a bit of a shock!
Anyway, it gave me a bit of breathing space and I posted the form back on the 7th august , recorded delivery, signed for, all the bells and whistles! They received it on the 8th Aug. THEN.. I had a letter with an appointment for a telephone appointment which would last for 90 minutes or so! We phoned but no joy, i struggle using the phone at the best of times and this was a total nightmare scenario for me. They said, Oh well, you can have a face to face - absolutely no way or a video call - no way once again.
Told them I had an extension on the time to return the form but they just didn't care. So, please be very careful if you get an extension on the time you have to return any forms.
My daughter was with me for the phone call and I have to say the lady was very nice. I managed to get through it with the help of my daughter and then 40 -50 minutes in, the lady said I'm ending interview now a I have all I need but all we had talked about was my mental health not my physical health and I had some results that I hadn't had in time for the ESA50. She took a note but said that going on my mental health problems and her report I would certainly get the highest rate of disability (not sure what that means because it was for ESA) I DID record the call!
One more thing, I stupidly ticked the box to allow them to access my medical records - I was very stressed! I have now received a letter from my Dr's to sign to allow them access. I havn't got anything to hide but it really triggered a meltdown that I could have done without. Now begins the waiting.........................
