Yes, you can ask them to change the type of assessment you have been offered. The other options are face-to-face, telephone or paper-based assessment. From what you've said, I'm guessing you are hoping for a paper-based assessment. If this is what you want, you will have to make a case for it, saying that any other type of assessment will cause you 'overwhelming psychological distress'. If you can get a letter from your doctor to back you up ' using those specific words - do so.

Unfortunately, the assessment services don't have to agree to a change. Obviously, you can't have a video assessment if you don't have a smartphone, but if you have a landline, they may try and push for a telephone assessment. Although not many face-to-face assessments are being carried out they could offer you one.

You can try twice to get them to change their mind, but you will have to accept their final offer.

Don't overthink this just tell them that you do not have the facilities to hold a video call, I assume you can handle a phone assessment or are you looking for a paper one?

Hi K, If the letter states once, then I would imagine this is correct, however if this isn't the case, I'm sure one of the other more experienced mods will elaborate on this. Kind regards, Chris.
