I just received the SMS text message below at 9:30pm, is this genuine and if so I think it is an appalling method of contacting someone with all these scams. It’s left me anxious and unable to sleep last night.

Hello from Independent Assessment Services. We conduct Personal Independence Payment (PIP) assessments for the Department for Work and Pensions DWP. This is for information purposes only, to let you know that we are managing your PIP assessment. We will look at the available evidence and will contact you with an appointment if we need to have a consultation with you. You can find information about the service we provide at www.mypipassessment.co.uk. You do not need to contact us.

Hi Mark

I would suggest you change your forum name - as it appears you have used your email address which means anyone else can see it. Follow the link for instructions on how to do it benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/faq/forum

As far as I know, this is a genuine text and it is a common way for IAS to contact PIP claimants. I'm sorry that it has caused you a sleepless night.
