Can anyone help Just received my decision letter and was given 11 points for daily living activities and 12 for mobility which i am happy about, but I noticed I was not given a point for using my dosette box or being prompted to take my medication which I have been given in the pass. That one point made the difference between me getting standard rate and enhanced rate. Is it worth doing a mandatory reconsideration? Feeling unsure due to not wanting to lose what I have.
I can't tell you what to do here because everyone has to make their own decision; however, if I were in a similar position, I would challenge it. I don't know if that's the only thing you are challenging or if you disagree with any of the other points. In your Mandatory Reconsideration, make it clear that you are happy with the mobility award - but it won't stop them from looking at it.
You are probably wondering if there is any risk to your award. There are three possible outcomes to an MR 1) Award remains unchanged. 2) Award is upgraded 3) Award is downgraded.
The majority of MRs are refused, and the award remains the same. I have only ever known a couple of people who have had their awards downgraded at this stage, and they were both very unusual cases.
