Hi last week I mentioned about being in a homeless hostel.I’m just wondering as I have since found out that they provide stuff like meals as well will I lose the daily living component of my PIP due to this? As I said in my last post housing benefit covers majority of the cost with me paying a short fall fee each week of 50 pound.

I’m just stressed and worried I will lose my money because of this.

Hi Oreobiscuit

You will find that any meals provided will have an effect on your housing benefit, not your PIP or ESA, meals are classed as ineligible and not paid by your HB entitlement.

As I have stated in your previous post, seek help from your local Welfare Rights Organisation; advicelocal.uk they will be able to put your mind at ease.
