Hello
We have just applied for PIP for my partner and will be doing it online. Have just got the code through and are having a look through the form
Now we are not super technically minded as such, now when we go to upload letters of evidence etc how would you it please?
We are doing it on a laptop. So would the best thing do to scan the letters using scanner and then add them that way ? As an attachment or in your photos/images
Or is there an easier way of doing it please. We do have a Samsung a13 phone which can do photos Any help would be grateful Thanks a lot

Hi CFremont

I haven't used the online system. The two ways you mention will both work - it depends on what you're most comfortable with.

Personally, I would photograph letters, save them as one PDF and load that. However, as I've said, I haven't used the system and don't know what it says about the size of files you can load up - so if I didn't have much experience, I would photograph and upload them individually. If I was using a scanner, I would do it in the same manner.

One of our members who has used the system will hopefully tell you what they have done.

Many Thanks. I've only logged in today to the new PIP claim so wont be at the stage of doing it quite yet. But thought I would try and glean some info before I get to that part. As out of the 2 of us I know a little more about pcs etc. Appreciate your response

Hi, I have uploaded mine on the system as a PDF file - it was time taking, but you've got the guarantee that they're there. It doesn't show you what you've uploaded on the system, however after a couple of weeks, you get a large brown A4 sized envelope through the post, with a copy of what you've uploaded, and that's their way I believe of confirming receipt of your documentation. I also renamed all my documentation so they could see what it was, and make sure that your N.I.no is on every page. Hope this helps. :)

Many Thanks for reply. I've only just got back online since my comment. May I ask how you saved them as PDF rather than just normal copies please ? Thanks again for the reply

Hi there - certainly - it depends on what you've got them originally saved as - then you need to download a converter (plenty free ones out there) so it's being converted from what type of file it is, and saved as a PDF via the converter. If you tell me what type of file it is, and I should be able to help you out with converting it. Some files as well, you can simply type .pdf at the end and then the computer system recognises it as a pdf file, but you have to make sure you've a program that will open it such as Adobe or Foxit for example. I know things can be tricky if you're not very tech savvy with computers, but I'll certainly help any way I can.
