PIP phone assessment was created by fitzk
Hi, i have been reading through the threads, it’s a big help knowing others are experiencing the same. I have just had my assessment and the assessor laughed twice at not being able to say my condition. It was slightly off putting. Also stating planning and following a journey was cognitive - when I said i can plan, just not leave the house without another person. The assessor insisted I answer could I plan. It is more than cognitive as the descriptors show. I will ask for my report. But surely this question has been asked very wrongly. What should I do? Thanks

Hi fitzk

I have just answered your query in your other post. benefitsandwork.co.uk/kunena/10-dla-esa-...-pip-assement#281487

Get hold of your report and see what it says. It may take 7 - 10 days to arrive

Hi,

I have my report. It’s quite strange, I made it clear i dont cook unless someone is with me, but the report says i can cook with an aid. I, quite clearly said i cant sit or stand to cook without intense pain so an aid wouldn’t help. Should i contact the dwp before a decision is made? This forum is giving me confidence in dealing with this awful system- many thanks.

Hi Fitzk

You have a very small window of time to challenge the report before the decision is made. Address your letter to the decision maker. Focus on the points where you disagree with the assessor and say what you think you should have scored. Say that the assessor "misunderstood", "missed," "left out," "was mistaken,"... or anything similar. Don't call the assessor a liar or incompetent - however tempting or accurate that might be. If you only had one error in that report, you're lucky. I would only bother writing if there's a chance it will make a fundamental difference to the points and the award you would be given. Unfortunately, reports often have some errors in them.

Thank you. At the moment it looks like I will get standard living, but my answers should be enhanced. I can’t cook due to pain, but the report said o can with aids. I don’t use aids and explained why I can’t.
