Im 58 and ive just got one. It seems theres a spate of older claimants getting them its not just you.

Hi, I've had one too after 10 years without an assessment and I'm 60. I think they're targeting oldies.

In the process of completing the wifes Esa50
Have a query on the moving around and using steps section
If the claimant can only walk 10-15 meters before experiencing severe pain, do I tick the 50 meters box or the it varies box and explain in the space below.

Personally, I would cross the 50m option out of the form and clearly explain her walking distance in the comments box.
Remember ESA is a mobility test so her ability to self-propel a manual wheelchair over the listed distances will also be considered, she does not have to use a chair or to even own one for this to be looked at.

Having been through a similar situation it's more than likely a Decision Maker would "carry" the claim over to UC, meaning if you were in Support Group ESA, you will go straight to LCWRA on UC.
If you were recently sent an ESA50, this too, will also carry over to UC and you will be sent the UC50 form shortly after a decision on your UC.
It probably won't delay it that much, if at all.
