Attendance Allowance was created by lolbol
Hi,
Just looking for a bit of advice please. I have completed forms for my Mum to claim Attendance allowance. I downloaded them filled them in, printed off and sent back to the address as per government website. The address is Freepost DWP, Attendance allowance. The post mistress informed me that I couldn't send the envelope special delivery as the address has no postcode. I sent it anyway and can only hope it gets there, I have copies if I need to re send. Is this the only address I can send them to or is there another one, with postcode, that I can then send as special delivery? I will give them a call on Thursday/Friday to see if the forms have been received and go from there.
Are the assessors for AA just as awful as they are for PIP. I would like to prepare best I can. My Mum is 82 and I'm not convinced she can cope or deal with having to go to an assessment centre. Tia

Hi lolbol

I have had a quick search on Google but not able to find a post code for AA, only free post address.

The Post Mistress is correct, PO needs a post code to send Special Delivery.

Let us know how you get on.

Usually there is no assessment, I have only had to ask for a MR a couple of times when claimants have been turned down, they they were successful.

Thank you Gary. I will keep you posted! I really am keeping everything crossed she doesn't have to have an assessment, not at 82 years of age!

Just an update on the application for AA for my Mother. She has been awarded higher rate, thanks to the tips in Benefits and work guides.

Can I ask, is there any guides for blue badge applications?

Many Thanks

Hi Lolbol

Congratulations on your mother's AA award. That is good to hear. I'm afraid we don't have a guide for a blue badge application. You can follow the information on the government website www.gov.uk/apply-blue-badge

Hi lolbol

Look on your local authority website for details on blue badge application, you will need a passport photo and there will be a small cost of around £10.00 if you applicstion is accepted.
