Well the dreaded ESA capability for work questionnaire has arrived. Any advice on how to proceed gratefully accepted. I cant cope with all the pressure you have to go through whilst coping with the daily struggle of chronic pain.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Bron

Have a look at our comprehensive guide to completing the form. Try and take one question a day to try and lessen the strain a bit. benefitsandwork.co.uk/guides-for-claimants/esa

If you have any specific questions once you've started - come back and ask and we will try and help.

I'm so confused with this form. Are they trick questions as they seemed to have reworded everything. Di I have to put a tick in any of the tick boxes? I have subscribed but I'm getting so confused.

Hi Bron

They are not trick questions, if your form is for a renewal, did you keep your previous form, if you did use it as a template to fill in the new form.

If you did not keep a copy then the best way to complete the form is to take your time and complete only a few at a time, take frequent breaks between each question and take your time.

Remember with ESA assessments you cannot ask for an extension unlike PIP, so make sure you send the form off in time, send the form by recorded delivery and keep the receipt safe so that you can check it has been received by DWP.

Stupid question before I send form back. My Daughter filled the form in online for me and then printed it off. Do I have to include the original esa50 form that they sent me back as well? I have had to use a large envelope to send back so I just stuck the envelope they sent onto the front...Is this also ok? Thanks in advance.

Hi Bron

There is no such thing as a stupid question ;-)

Unless there is a barcode on the front page then no you do not need to include the original form, some timesa date is stamped on the front cover in which case switch the pages over.

You can down load the UC50 form from the Gov website.

Yes it will be fine to stick the envelope on to another envelope, make sure you send all your hard work by recorded delivery and keep a copy of your form in case it gets lost.
