I'm happy to say that I have been successful in my struggle to be awarded the higher rate PIP Mobility. I had previously been awarded the higher rate daily living, and standard rate of mobility, I was informed following my reassessment meeting where I was grilled by an assessment officer with a nurse in support. I felt absolutely drained after the assessment and was pleased that I had managed to answer her questions ok, to find out that I had been knocked down on the daily living as I could hold a conversation with the assessor. After feeling angry at losing my daily living enhanced rate, I was pleased that I had got the enhanced rate of mobility as this meant I could finally get myself a mobility car which allows me to safely drive, which is my means of getting out of the house as we have no bus services or taxis as we live in a very rural location. I can now look out of my front window and see my new car parked on the drive so happy days!
