Got my daughter's P.I.P. & ESA !! was created by Zenele
At last the brown envelope dropped through the letter box, my autistic daughter was awarded enhanced daily living (previously on middle rate of D.L.A.) and the standard rate for mobility, I just couldn't believe it because her challenging behaviour is unseen but thank goodness is referred to in her diagnostic report. The award is for 4 years, that's fine.
On thinking about this process, I've never felt such stress, I think all parents/carers/applicants are being put through such an ordeal, just to reduce the welfare cost to the government.
I also think a lot depends on the assessor you get, unfortunately.
Thank you everybody at Benefits and Work what would we do without you and the forum. The guides are such a help, but I did feel so overwhelmed.
Good luck to everybody still waiting for the results of their P.I.P.

My daughter has successfully remained in the support group for E.S.A. Once again thank you benefits and work and forum members. I must be very lucky.
In hind sight; the P.I.P. and E.S.A. medical assessments were almost identical, doesn't the DWP. need to look at this for applicants with life long disabilities, why two assessments if you can never work? My daughter had an increase in seizures with the stress of attending back to back assessments, I'm sure a lot of people have been very stressed in the same situation. I will be writing to my M.P. about this, I have have had a lot of positive correspondence with her re disability benefits in general.

Hi C,

Well done on "doing the double" !! :cheer: :)

Although the ESA and PIP Assessments may have seemed similar, they are totally different tests with totally different qualifying criteria, using totally different software programmes to carry out the assessments, PIPAT for PIP and LiMA for ESA.

Anyway, well done and thanks for the kind comments !! :)

Now that you have the SG Decision Notice letter, you might find : This Post helpful ! :)

This Maximas centre is in Elthorne rd Jobcentre in Holloway. Easy Access if you live in London and can physically use the Overground line there are limited pay and display bays. There are blue badge parking areas in Elthorne rd.
There is a lift and disability toilets.
I did not like this centre, I found it off putting that there was a security guard in the waiting area, who was aggressive in manner. We were kept an hour past our appointment time. My daughter got very agitated and started chair rocking and shouting, (challenging behaviour). I could see the security guard staring and wanting to say something. She didn't challenge my daughter thankfully, if she had I would have lodged a complaint.
Thankfully the assessor was very pleasant.
