SARS Request was created by pamela
Well I asked for a SARS request and since then have recieved my PIP award notice all at enhanced, thanks to this site.I was that nervous I have just closed the SARS request asking whether it affected my new PIP award. by doing this.apparently not.
I rang the DWP and they didn't even know what a SARS was,I explained to them in detail it what a request for anything they had on on me regarding my PIP.So now am anxoius that they will close my PIP award, please can any-one advise me I wish I hadn't asked for the SARS on me now.
Thanks.

Hi ps,
Congratulations on your Enhanced PIP Awards for "both" !!
Thanks for your comments regarding B&W !
Making a SAR for your PIP documentation will have no adverse effect whatsoever !
SAR's are dealt with by The Data Control Dept which is totally separate to the PIP Assessment/Decision making departments.
Many members still submit SAR's for documentation even when they are happy with their awards, as it may be helpful when the time comes for their awards to be renewed/reviewed.
You can expect to receive your PIP renewal forms 12 months before the end date of your current award.
Don't worry, whether you decide to submit a SAR or not, it will not alter your PIP awards.
With respect to submitting a SAR :
You can do this using a SAR Form :
SAR Form Download
From this page :
DWP Data Protection Policy
Or you can make the request in the form of a letter, as long as you make it clear that you are making a formal SAR under The Data Protection Act 1998.
Address the envelope : FAO The Data Controller, at the Benefits Office dealing with your PIP.
Write DPA 1998 SAR in front, top, left corner of envelope.
Once received, they have 40 calendar days to comply.
Sending Documents to the DWP.

Thank you for your advice, that;s a big relief it will not affect my PIP award, which is for ten years.
I just wish every-one had enough training to give the correct information to claimants instead of getting different answers everytime you phone which unnerves the person who's already anxious.
Best Wishes.
