Thanks for advice - PIP tribunal won today was created by Claire36
Thanks for all of the information and advice provided over last six months. I had my tribunal today and won my PIP benefit back.
A DWP representative attended and admitted to a couple of failings 1. Having no face to face assessment and 2. That a Doctor should of done the assessment due to the conditions I have and not a physiotherapist on 1st assessment and second paper based reassessment a nurse looking.
Without questioning me I was award straight away my mobility standard rate by the dr and judge. Then after questioning me what I do daily and what support they awarded me enhanced for care. Awarded 3 years
So after all the battling and standing my ground I ended up getting more now than when I was getting on my first award when i was going through chemotherapy and fighting for my life. Plus other medical problems that I still have. Which was standard on both and for only two years.
Once again thanks for this website and to all who run it..

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Well done, Tribunals are not easy and can sometimes be very traumatic.
I'm interested to hear that the DWP admitted that the qualifications of the assessor were an issue, this is not normally something that is admitted.

i was surprised aswell and the whole board the dr, judge and disability assessor were all very nice and even gave me advice.
The dr mentioned to have hydrotherapy but I explained my local NHS service don't provide it and I was looking at doing this privately before my money stopped to try and regain my strength.
The dr mentioned also as I've stopped work altogether to try and do some course from home explained again I thought this would effect my other benefits then the DWP guy said no not if its for only a couple hours a week and it's to benefit my health I.e keep my brain simulated.
Had recommendation to seek a referal by my GP to occupational health to provide me with help at home and to get me a better walking aid. I replied this is what I thought this PIP was for to get me the equipment and transport help I need.
Just got to wait and see if DWP challenge it but by all the support and apology today I'll be shocked if they do. Hopefully I get my back pay before Xmas and clear the debts that have been building and have a relaxing fun Xmas and new year.
I took this on by myself in the end as my advisor through my local mental health team had left. The more evidence the better I think helped but I do see 10 different people for my problems.
I did explain I struggled to go through the near on 200 pages that were provided for today's tribunal and the judge said she did herself as I pointed out having a member of DWPs train ticket and hotel booking enclosed made light reading.
Once again keep up the good work and I will keep my membership up many thanks.

Hi Claire36
Well done, you must be so relieved. As you say, hopefully you can now have a worry free Christmas.
I'm really interested to read your experiences, as I have been wondering if there are any facts and figures as yet regarding renewals of PIP awards. I am wondering if it is just a matter of everybody being reassessed face to face, or if awards can be renewed without a f2f.
Apologies in advance if I've asked this question in the wrong place or manner, I never seem to get it right!!
Many thanks
