| Tasks you struggle with on a day-to-day basis: Repeated physical activity. Cooking, cleaning, self care, shopping, living. ME is a dynamic illness that worsens on physical activity. I may be able to cook one day but can't reliably daily. With any of the tasks. Not walking, cooking, shopping, cleaning, self care. Everything has to be carefully energy managed. |
| Expected income you will lose if the Green Paper cuts are imposed: £259 pm which has payed for my mobility scooter (second hand). I need to get an electric wheelchair for severe days. But not around the house use. Only to leave the house. |
| Expected problems if you tried moving into work, with support from a work coach: My physical, cognitive, fluctuations are so random and dynamic. One thing I could do once I can't reliably repeat. But excessive physical, cognitive and sensory exposure escalates symptoms which are helped by lying flat in a cool dark room with minimal sensory exposure. This resets me. |
| Anything else to tell us: ME and Long COVID suffers are especially vulnerable to the proposed Pip changes. We already have zero quality of life. The little money we get we use on helping aids, services or cheats to get by when we have flare ups. Alarmingly when we push ourselves we can get an avalanche of symptoms that are likely to thrust us into a disabling level of severe or very severe. These conditions need to be very carefully controlled and managed through pacing. But no two days are alike and external, unplanable factors impact it. Like weather changes, mentrual cycles, exposure to extreme temperatures, light, sound. |
