| Tasks you struggle with on a day-to-day basis: I struggle with even getting out of bed most days, I can no longer cook or clean my house or do gardening. I can’t get in and out of the bath or shower without assistance, I don’t even answer my front door as I’m so anxious about seeing other people (or rather other people seeing me in the mess I now am). I receive high rate mobility pip, as I can only walk less than 20m. Who wants to employ me? |
| Expected income you will lose if the Green Paper cuts are imposed: I expect to lose £295.60. As it is, PIP is my only income, so I’ll be losing almost half of it, just like that. I couldn’t manage, and I honestly think there would be only one way out for me. |
| Expected problems if you tried moving into work, with support from a work coach: I would be unreliable, I can’t walk more than a few steps, I can no longer lift things and grip things, my anxiety means I hate seeing other people and I have panic attacks if I do ever need to leave the house. My stomach problems mean I suffer from upset tummy more often than not. I’m in constant pain and I just turned 60. No employer in their right mind would employ me, and I just physically and mentally could not work. |
| Anything else to tell us: I’m becoming more and more concerned about what this terrible government are doing to us poor disabled folk. They’re acting like we WANT to be this way, and that taking away our money will suddenly make us all able to take on jobs, which are in short supply for the able bodied in society I might add. Taking away my only income will not make me able to work, it will make me unable to live. |
