Nickname: Fionn |
Age: 68 |
Main health condition: Physical health |
Main conditions that affect daily living: ME/CFS, arthritis, effects of old back injury |
Rate of PIP daily living component: Enhanced |
4 point descriptor score: No |
Possibility to score at least one 4-point daily living descriptor at the next review: I don't know.o much seem to depend on the assessor, and because I have enough points for enhanced daily living, I'd never pushed back when I was scored a bit low on some activities. |
Tasks you struggle with on a day-to-day basis: Everything. Can't cook for myself, struggle in the shower, struggle getting dressed, need help to keep the house clean, etc. |
Expected income you will lose if the Green Paper cuts are imposed: The whole PIP award Pension Credit (don't qualify without PIP if you get a full state pension) My 100% council tax discount (don't qualify without Pension Credit) All the other passported benefits of Pension Credit: winter fuel allowance, cheaper optician's and dentist's costs, etc I can't face working out the total financial loss, it's too stressful. I'll wait and see what's actually going to happen before I drive myself into the ground worrying. |
Expected problems if you tried moving into work, with support from a work coach: I'm already beyond retirement age. |
Anything else to tell us: I don't think the government has realised the massive implications of these cuts – supposedly designed to get people into work – for people who're not even EXPECTED to work because they're beyond state pension age. |
