Tasks you struggle with on a day-to-day basis: Due to limited energy, and moderate to severe pain I am limited on what I can do without making myself significantly worse. I can not shower every day, or every other day. I manage it with difficulty once a week. I can not have a bath. I can't brush my hair every day, I can't make a fresh meal or get regular drinks. I need help getting pills out of packets, I often wet myself and leak urine. I can't go out more than once a week for a few hours, and even after that I spend 3 days recovering where I can't leave my home, have migraines, feel like I have the flu and can't think straight. Everything people do day-to-day is difficult or impossible for me. |
Expected income you will lose if the Green Paper cuts are imposed: Most if not all. I would loose pip and the lwrca. I won't be gainfully employed, so I'll be sanctioned, meaning a loss of any UC I am given. This will cause me, my husband a children to be pushed into poverty. We will need to use a food bank, which won't meet any of our medical dietary requirements and put further pressure on my husband and his mental health. |
Expected problems if you tried moving into work, with support from a work coach: I would need a 1 - 2 hour a day work from home job, (due to fatigue, pain and Pots), where I don't need to speak to anyone on the phone due brain fog, cognitive dysfunction, word finding difficulties and slured speach when exhausted) and that is flexible, because if there's any change to my energy expenditure I'm going to have more energy crashes where I start shaking, get freezing cold, feel nauseous and then am so exhausted that I physically can not stay awake) and these can happen at any time. I'm also affected by the weather/temperature and if I get a virus, even just the common cold, it makes me so unwell I can be bed bound for weeks. Realisticly I can't reliably and routinely even go to the job centre for interviews with a work coach because of how unwell it will make me and I'll need someone to go with me to support me, and without PIP I can't afford to get a cab there as I can't use public transport. I am highly trained and qualified in a field I'm no longer fit or able to work in, and alongside my cognitive dysfunction I would need a low responsibility job, but I'm not physically able to do things like collect trollies in a supermarket or work in a factory. |
Anything else to tell us: I voted Labour and encouraged friends and family to do the same, to protect the most vulnerable in society. I am not only disappointed, but saddened and shocked by this labour government's attack on the elderly, the disabled and further a field in their plans to remove parental rights and force the state to take control of so many parts of our lives. |
