Nickname: Sloth |
Age: 40-45 |
Main health condition: Both physical and mental health |
Main conditions that affect daily living: ME/CFS, fibromyalgia, depression. |
Rate of PIP daily living component: Standard |
4 point descriptor score: No |
Possibility to score at least one 4-point daily living descriptor at the next review: I'm not holding out much hope, though I believe I do qualify in at least one descriptor. |
Tasks you struggle with on a day-to-day basis: My main diffficulties are that I struggle to wash, dress, prepare food as well as moving any distance. I also have difficulty with cleaning, laundry, shopping etc though those are not covered by PIP. I can't stand or sit to wash, if I didn't have someone to cook for me I would need to live off takeaway food and snacks, dressing and changing me clothes takes a long time and almost always leaves me exhausted. However I have been consistently scored as only needing aids to assist me. |
Expected income you will lose if the Green Paper cuts are imposed: I do not have the reserves to look into that. I would still have the mobility componant but I do not know if my disability component of universal credit would also be affected. I've been unable to work for most than 5 years. |
Expected problems if you tried moving into work, with support from a work coach: Getting ready for and traveling to work would use up all of the energy I have available to me (and possibly more) on an average day. I would be unable to be a productive employee and would damage both my physical and mental health. |
Anything else to tell us: If I was capable of working I would love to go back, unfortunately as things stand I am terrified of the decline in my already limited quality of life. |
