Nickname: Kath
Age: 52
Main health condition: Both physical and mental health
Main conditions that affect daily living: Degenerative disc disease, lumber spondylosis, cervical spondylosis, cervical stenosis, ME, adhd, osteoarthritis in spine, hands/fingers, feet/ankles.
Rate of PIP daily living component: Standard
4 point descriptor score: No
Possibility to score at least one 4-point daily living descriptor at the next review: Unsure, I didn't appeal as the standard amount is enough to support my disability round work
Tasks you struggle with on a day-to-day basis: I have severe fatigue due to ME. I also have chronic back pain constantly, struggle to walk longer than 5 minutes with out pain or consequences.
Expected income you will lose if the Green Paper cuts are imposed: I would loose the lcwra and standard living pip so approx 700 a month. I do work as a class TA in a primary school term time only so I get breaks every 6/7 weeks. I have had to drop a day as I was facing disciplinaries for absences due to ME as advised by occupational health and pps clinic. The money I receive covers the day I had to drop plus mobility aids, car, home help and other costs due to disability that if I didn't have my health would deteriate considerably enough that I 1puldnt then be able to work. I have adjustments at work already such as regular rest breaks, a special chair and short walks between classrooms (ta room next door to classroom for interventions etc) no attending school trips, lifting, twisting movements etc. I work 61/2 hours a day 4 days a week. As a single person I have no backup, a mortgage so I'm not taking money from the government for rent etc. If I loose this money I will loose my job and my home and basically my life would end. No joke!
Expected problems if you tried moving into work, with support from a work coach: N/a
Anything else to tell us: As above. Please feel free to contact me if you need me to say more.
