Nickname: Cabby |
Age: 69 |
Main health condition: Both physical and mental health |
Main conditions that affect daily living: Depression PTSD Memory Loss Back and hip issues |
Rate of PIP daily living component: Standard |
4 point descriptor score: No |
Possibility to score at least one 4-point daily living descriptor at the next review: Personally I think it is doubtful |
Tasks you struggle with on a day-to-day basis: I struggle to wash and bathe and have to be reminded to shower as I put it off when I am feeling very low I don't want to eat and struggle to make a simple meal as my hands have lost their strength I have hearing problems so I miss things during conversations I have to be reminded about tasks if I forget to make lists I struggle to clean due to pain issues in back and hips I cannot change beds without help |
Expected income you will lose if the Green Paper cuts are imposed: If I lost the daily living component standard rate: I would not be able to employ a cleaner who helps with bed changing and I would be unable to deal with this due to my depression and low mood probably leading to having more suicidal thoughts and the probability of carrying this out Cleaner also helps with general tasks and to deal with some issues like appointments or correspondence and I would not be able to deal with all this |
Expected problems if you tried moving into work, with support from a work coach: I am retired |
Anything else to tell us: I think this would have a devastating impact on people who struggle and for those who have limited capability. The DWP needs to rethink what they will be doing to people in terms of both their physical and mental health. |
