Rate of PIP daily living component: Standard |
4 point descriptor score: No |
Possibility to score at least one 4-point daily living descriptor at the next review: I probably won’t as I don’t now and it was so difficult just to get standard rate on living and mobility criteria |
Tasks you struggle with on a day-to-day basis: I struggle with every day life walking is so difficult from shopping to house work to getting in the bath I can’t do that now I need support to wash shower dress and personal hygiene. I need help with cooking now as balance and pain is so difficult I can’t do this on my own. Every day I need assistance to be able to lead a good quality of life |
Expected income you will lose if the Green Paper cuts are imposed: £406.00 It is demoralising for people like me who do work who need the extra money to help up to stay in work and pay for things like extra help - ie : cleaning cooking shopping etc |
Expected problems if you tried moving into work, with support from a work coach: I work from home with reasonable adjustments by my employer pip enables me to work with out it I may not be able to work. |
Anything else to tell us: Currently, PIP provides essential support for people with disabilities and long-term health conditions to manage everyday tasks. I work and rely on this support to help with my daily living needs. Without it, I will struggle with essential activities such as preparing meals, managing medication, and other vital tasks that enable me to live independently, due to paying people to help me. This decision to change the criteria to 4 points must be achieved or you won’t get pip will be me ! It will plunge me into further difficulties, as I will no longer receive the help I need. The financial loss will make it harder to afford necessary assistance, equipment, or adjustments that help me manage my condition while remaining in work. Losing PIP will also affect access to other benefits or schemes that support disabled people, increasing the risk of hardship such as blue badge , assistance with disability access - carers benifit If this change goes ahead, the government must put alternative support in place for those who still meet the eight-point threshold overall but do not score four points in one activity. The new system is discriminating against me for not meeting the new criteria! |
