Tasks you struggle with on a day-to-day basis: Washing myself, dressing, toilet, making meals and drinks, cutting food basically anything and everything that’s needed to function ‘independently’! My condition can fluctuate but primarily most instances I haven’t the physical ability to do what’s deemed ‘normal’ daily activities by myself, and need to rely on others to help me.
Expected income you will lose if the Green Paper cuts are imposed: Nearly £5k which I will struggle to survive without as I would no doubt lose my car and therefore my only form of independence, along with my Blue Badge. I’d also struggle with trying to use public transport as there are times I’m unable to move due to the pain. Which in turn means I’d struggle to get to any form of work. I’d already lost my job of 30 years due to ill health retirement so who would want to employ someone constantly sick?!?!
Expected problems if you tried moving into work, with support from a work coach: As above I’d already lost my job of 30 years due to ill health retirement so who would want to employ someone constantly sick and unable to contribute fully? No work coach is going to take away my disability are they!
Anything else to tell us: I suffer enough with my disability and being unable to contribute fully to my family already. This proposal would leave me with more stress and anxiety in trying to do more than is physically possible whilst financially poorer by losing what tiny piece of independence I already have!
