Nickname: Lo |
Age: 50-55 |
Main health condition: Physical health |
Main conditions that affect daily living: Severe asthma Long Covid Musculoskeletal disc issues - with chronic pain Mental health affected |
Rate of PIP daily living component: Standard |
4 point descriptor score: No |
Possibility to score at least one 4-point daily living descriptor at the next review: Variable as had recent review and expected in two areas but didn't get. |
Tasks you struggle with on a day-to-day basis: Day to day activities affected cooking, toileting, dressing, showering, walking. I also have conditions that fluctuate |
Expected income you will lose if the Green Paper cuts are imposed: Standard living amount |
Expected problems if you tried moving into work, with support from a work coach: I do work part time, but as conditions fluctuate so does my time off work. I also have numerous medical appointments as under 8 specialists. Trying to find employmers that accommodate that will not be easy. Work coaches need to be trained adequately on these issues like my specialists. As someone who was medically retired and then returned to correct support is needed. Some disabled people work less hours due to issues. Problems in understanding conditions, expectations etc. |
Anything else to tell us: I score just under enhanced so standard living. I had a review and believe I meet criteria for 4 in two descriptors. But I didn't do MR as I don't have the strength to do this. You could score 19 in total and another person 8 but as you don't receive 4 in one area you don't receive PIP. This is showing complex issues. So you can't dress or sort yourself out down below but score 2. Expecting family to dress you if you live with and you also don't qualify for careers so you can't pay for someone to do it anymore. I expect more people to ask for care assessments from social services. |
