Tasks you struggle with on a day-to-day basis: Cant walk far, in constant pain in hips, lower back, both shoulders and muscle spasm across upper back, pain down both arms, cant move arm, pins and needles and numbness in hands. Chronic fatigue is also a problem. Effect it has on daily basis is I cant walk far, need help to get in and out of bath, wash hair and dress and undress, partner cooks and helps with shopping. Cant sit or stand for long length of time as stiffen up and pain gets worse. Struggle with stairs especially climbing up them. Dont sleep well. Had to give up my job as cant sustain movement or sitting for any length of time. Have to pace , plan and prioritise thro the day. Housework is difficult and i can no longer shop on my own. I also have to keep joints warm otherwise its worse which is hard when heating bills have gone up. Everything is difficult on a daily basis even putting shoes on as have difficulty bending. So washing, bathing, dressing/ undressing, cooking, walking, sitting, standing, reaching up. Bending down in both house and shops, all housework, shopping, personal care, stairs |
Expected income you will lose if the Green Paper cuts are imposed: It would have a huge impact on me and increase the worry I already have so would impact my mental health on top of my physical health . Id lose £290 a month and have to turn heating off which would be detrimental and sell the car which would impact me going anywhere with my partner who drives. I dont get pension for another three years thanks to increase of pension age so i would be left with no income to support me if my PIP stopped. It is my lifeline until i get my state pension |
Expected problems if you tried moving into work, with support from a work coach: Well i had to give up my job due to my health. I cant sit or stand for long, cant move left arm up or out , pain in all joints and back so not much movement and cant bend anymore so you tell me what job i could do that wouldnt require any of that. I would not be able to just stop when i needed to and it would push me into a major flare up and end up on the sick. |
Anything else to tell us: I think these proposed changes are unfair as its really hard to get any help. If they remove PIP for people with certain life long conditions it will be detrimental to their health and make the condition worse. Doubt anyone would want to employ me at my age for me to work for two weeks then go on sick because iv pushed myself and caused further damage . Iv worked all my life although struggled at times but Iv had to give it up now as Im defeated and to continue would have long lasting effects on my body. |
