Nickname: Justacar |
Age: 34 |
Main health condition: Physical health |
Main conditions that affect daily living: Long Covid BPPV |
Rate of PIP daily living component: Standard |
4 point descriptor score: No |
Possibility to score at least one 4-point daily living descriptor at the next review: Unlikely although I feel I should due to deterioration, but dont trust the DWP or assessors to score me fairly. |
Tasks you struggle with on a day-to-day basis: Cooking, I cannot cook safely or within a reasonable time frame. Partner has to cook for me. Taking medication. I often forget due to cognitive fatigue (brain fog), worsening my condition. Socialising and mixing with others. Cannot function in groups or crowds due to overwhelming anxiety around becoming symptomatic. I need social support in groups. Reading. I cannot read complex information and use aids to read for me. I also aids to type as part of my job. Processing verbal information. I sometimes am unable to talk, sustain a conversation or understand what people are saying. Making monetary decisions. I make poor money choices and require help to budget or make complex financial decisions. I cannot walk for and tire very easily, suffering with PEM which effects all of my daily activities, including washing and dressing. |
Expected income you will lose if the Green Paper cuts are imposed: -£3,800 I would struggle with the extra costs I incur getting to work. I would not be able to fund my aids and therapies I use to help me with everyday tasks. |
Expected problems if you tried moving into work, with support from a work coach: I already work but may not be able to sustain my job. I would probably have to drop my hours to reduce my mental and physical fatigue after work. Currently my PIP goes towards aids and help to redcue the additional fatigue my job causes. |
Anything else to tell us: If I lose my PIP I will not be able to fund the therapies and aids I use to alleviate my disability. It will also make it even harder to access disabled facilities such as the use of disabled areas at festivals and events that require PIP evidence and other things such as a blue badge. |
