Tasks you struggle with on a day-to-day basis: Extreme anxiety, autism fears, sensory issues, unable to cope in crowds. Cannot use public transport, cannot make new journey alone. Often overstimulated so then cannot focus to cook meal. Need a lot of downtime alone in house even after simply food shopping. Struggle with conversation with anyone I don’t know. Cannot function in workplace as I do things slower than others . I have to mentally work up often for days to go out and being out is physically draining and need shutdown time to recover |
Expected income you will lose if the Green Paper cuts are imposed: Would lose PIP at £100/ week and if connect to esa support would be another £71 week . This is my lifeline to pay for food, ready meals and takeaway when I can’t cook. It keeps my car going which is crucial or I would never even go shopping without it. Pays for friends son to cut grass and gardening I can’t do. Car gets me to appointments, and enables me to leave house and see my friends. The cuts will literally make me homeless and suicidal, |
Expected problems if you tried moving into work, with support from a work coach: I don’t work and would not cope with work, I was signed off 15 years ago. 85% of people with autism do not work, sensory overload, social anxiety, unable to work at speed, unexpected changes can make me shutdown |
Anything else to tell us: These changes are appalling and will literally kill off or make disabled especially hidden disability homeless. We may be able to dress ourselves and make meals when not too overwhelmed which happens a lot, but it doesn’t mean we can cope with world of work, when can’t even cope with public transport. This is huge disability discrimination and degrading us as humans. Also any money we receive all goes back into economy in UK. I have been on esa for years but didn’t always claim PIP, had it once lost it on renewal even though nothing changed. Applied again and turned down, years later applied with exact same information and got it back. PIP is already extremely draining to apply for and same information get it one time not another , there is 0% fraud on PIP from claimant but certainly is on assesser . I have never had 4 points on anything but I deserve what I get, I am just as worthy as able bodied person |
