Nickname: Amanda |
Age: 35-40 |
Main health condition: Physical health |
Main conditions that affect daily living: Myalgic encephalomyelitis - multiple symptoms within this condition, fatigue, insomnia, never feeling like you have refreshed sleep, joint pain, muscle spasms, pins and needles, numbness, low immune system, migraines, brain fog, difficulty concentrating, post exertion malaise, sore throat, flu like symptoms, light sensitivity, hot flushes, balance problems |
Rate of PIP daily living component: Standard |
4 point descriptor score: No |
Possibility to score at least one 4-point daily living descriptor at the next review: Considering how difficult it is to get pip and how much stress they put you through, don’t believe your answers, I felt like I should have been awarded 4 points on alot of sections but it was my first attempt at applying and they scare monger you into saying if they review it then it could be taken away from you so I just accepted the bare minimum help |
Tasks you struggle with on a day-to-day basis: Energy levels means I don’t have energy to do a lot of stuff most days, this includes washing myself and cooking |
Expected income you will lose if the Green Paper cuts are imposed: £290 a month which I use to support me with adaptions I need. If I’m not able to get out then taxis, due to medication I’m on then my monthly nhs pre payment prescriptions, also things I buy to try help my condition for example ibugel, massage gun and anything else I’m willing to try to help in day to day life |
Expected problems if you tried moving into work, with support from a work coach: I work part time in a work from home job. The max I can manage is 4 hours with breaks to allow me to not get stiff in a job that’s repetitive, I can’t physically work anymore or it takes all my energy and I end up in bed (bed bound) for weeks on end. I have to work to support myself with the assistance of the pip payments. |
Anything else to tell us: Just a point for the gov - rather than going after the sick and disabled why not look at all the people that just choose not to work and claim, we pay millions out for people coming into this country, give them places to live, feed them, we send money for wars that aren’t ours. Instead of helping everyone else, start at home first. I’m fortunate I can do a small amount of work but some people with disabilities cannot work, they won’t be able to afford to feed themselves or keep warm. Stand in our shoes for once and live a month on the minimal help we get then see if they’d be happy doing that. |
